APPEARANCES
I loved the opportunity to speak at schools around the state, to educate thousands of students my own age about the dangers of texting and driving. It is important that students learn to put away their phone while behind the wheel before it becomes a habit. It is also proven that peer to peer education on topics like this have a greater impact in changing behavior.

It was also very important to use media as an outlet to reach more people, especially during April, Distracted Driving Awareness Month. I had many appearances on local news stations, created statewide radio PSA's and social media videos as the spokesperson for the North Dakota Department of Transportation SpeakUp! and Vision Zero campaign, and was featured in magazine articles.

In addition to speaking at schools, I spoke at many gatherings and conferences, such as the ND Conference for Injury Prevention and Control, the ND Student Council Convention, Kiwanis Club, North Dakota Safety Council Alive at 25 class, and church life lessons.

I also loved attending community events aimed to raise awareness of distracted driving, like the Our Drive To Survive Annual Walk/Run. I encourage people of all ages to take the pledge to not text and drive.

I was excited to bring my platform to the national level when I competed at the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Competition. I was honored to be recognized as a Teens in Action finalist for my dedication to my platform and community service.
